Creating a Job Instead of Financial Freedom

Did you just create a job for yourself that's worse than a job?

One of my clients has a practical definition of Financial Freedom:

“You wake up in the morning, and your bills are paid.”

I like this definition because of its simplicity.

One of the big motivations for becoming an entrepreneur is to obtain financial freedom.

Yes, we want to solve problems and help people, but we also want to make money and answer to no one and can do whatever the hell we want.

Have time for our families.

Take vacations.

Live life on our terms.

But if we’re not careful about how we build our business, we run the risk of creating a huge treadmill for ourselves that we can’t get off.

Too many entrepreneurs and business owners just create a job for themselves instead of freedom.

And not a high-paying job with great benefits either. But a job with long hours, low pay, no time off, and near-constant anxiety.

And like a job, it stops paying the moment they stop working.

I’ve run into this mistake myself, and it sucks.

It’s one of the things that motivates me to help other small business owners get out of the same trap.

I show them how they can double their profits, and work with them to set up systems and processes, so their business finally works for them, instead of them for their business.
